Y2O is a free platform where students capture their experiences — volunteering, learning, working, competing — and organizations like yours verify their participation with one tap.
Become a founding partnerFree forever. No account required. Takes 2 minutes.
Every year, students across the GTA put in real hours at organizations like yours. They volunteer at food banks. They learn robotics at after-school programs. They work weekends at restaurants. They compete on sports teams. They lead projects at community centres.
But when they apply for university, scholarships, or their first real job — none of it is on the record. Their transcript shows grades. It doesn't show the hundreds of hours they spent growing with you.
It doesn't matter whether those hours were spent stacking shelves at a food bank, debugging code at a robotics club, serving customers at a cafe, or training for a tournament. The system treats them all the same way: invisible.
Ontario just introduced the Minister's Certificate of Recognition — Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers for students who go beyond 40 community involvement hours. It goes on their official record. But the infrastructure to track and verify those hours doesn't exist. Neither does any system for tracking work experience, learning hours, or competitive participation.
That's why we're building Y2O.
Community service, fundraising, mentoring, event support, environmental work
Courses, workshops, certifications, skill-building programs, practice hours
Part-time jobs, co-op placements, internships, side hustles, freelance work
Sports seasons, academic competitions, performances, team leadership, coaching
No new software. No training. No admin. No cost.
When a student logs an activity on Y2O — volunteering, a class, a shift, a game — they tag your organization. You don't need to be on the platform.
By email, text, or WhatsApp — your choice. The link shows the student's name, what they did, and the hours they're claiming. No login required.
"Yes, this student participated." That's it. Their record is now verified. 10 seconds. You've just helped a student's growth become visible.
Works the same whether you're a temple, a tutoring centre, a restaurant, or a sports league.
Verification is all we're asking for. But if you want more, everything below is free. No contract. No catch.
Students find volunteer roles, classes, or job openings through Y2O.
See who's been involved, when, and how many hours — in one place.
Recognize students who went above and beyond with a standout badge.
Show your board or funders exactly what students contributed.
It doesn't matter what they do. If they show up, put in hours, and grow — you can verify it.
Food banks, temples, gurdwaras, mosques, churches, community centres, cultural associations, hospitals, charities, environmental groups, Rotary clubs
Robotics clubs, coding academies, tutoring centres, dance studios, music schools, arts programs, language schools, STEM programs
Restaurants, retail stores, offices, trades, local businesses, any employer where students work part-time, co-op, or freelance

Big or small. Formal or grassroots. If students participate, Y2O works for you.
We're inviting the first 25 organizations across the GTA to help shape Y2O — whether you're a nonprofit, a tutoring centre, a local restaurant, or a sports league.
2 minutes. No login required. We'll follow up within 48 hours.
Y2O — Youth to Opportunities — is the verified growth record for youth. We help high school students capture everything they build outside the classroom — volunteering, learning, working, competing, leading — in one profile, verified by the organizations and employers they work with.
Founded by a father and daughter in Halton Region who asked a simple question: why does the world want proof of who you are before giving you the chance to show it?
We're launching in the GTA. 350,000+ high school students. Your community.
